MORE ABOUT US

OUR FAITH AND CONFESSION

We believe:

  • In God the Father, Creator of all things
  • In Jesus Christ, God’s true Son who became man and who is the only Savior from sin.
  • In the Holy Spirit, who through the Word and Sacrements, offers God’s forgiveness of all our sins, strengthens faith and enables the Christian to lead a faithful life.

We Teach:

  • The Bible is God’s inspired and inerrant Word. It is the only basis for all matters of faith and life.

We Confess that Through Baptism:

  • We are truly sorry and repent of all our sins, desiring, by the power of the Holy Spirit, to amend our life.
  • We believe that Jesus is our Lord and Savior who died and rose for our salvation.
  • We believe that in and with the bread and wine, Christ gives us His true Body and Blood for the forgiveness of our sins, assurance of salvation and strengthening of faith, and the power to live for Him, and to serve Him through His Church.

In the Lord’s Supper, Jesus comes to be with us in a blessed holy communion, with and under the bread and wine for the forgiveness of sins.

If you come to our church as a visitor please speak with the Pastor or an Elder before the service if you desire to come to the Lord’s Table.

OUR BELIEFS

Overview

The Lutheran Church is part of the Christian Church and takes its name from Martin Luther, the 16th century reformer who stressed that the Bible is the only source of the teachings of God, and that only through faith in Jesus Christ can one be saved.

Concordia Lutheran Church is affiliated with The Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod, founded in 1847 and is based on God’s Word (the Bible), the Sacraments and world mission work.  Through the Synod and Northwest District, we send missionaries around the world, train church workers and publish Christian literature and materials.

Belief and Practice

With the universal Christian Church, The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod teaches and responds to the love of the Triune God: the Father, creator of all that exists; Jesus Christ, the Son, who became human to suffer and die for the sins of all human beings and to rise to life again in the ultimate victory over death and Satan; and the Holy Spirit, who creates faith through God’s Word and Sacraments. The three persons of the Trinity are coequal and coeternal, one God.

Being “Lutheran”

Our congregations accept and preach the Bible-based teachings of Martin Luther that inspired the reformation of the Christian Church in the 16th century. The teaching of Luther and the reformers can be summarized in three phrases: Grace alone, Faith alone, Scripture alone.
